Join us as author Andrew Young takes attendees on a virtual, photographic tour of Plymouth’s great, public leisure space, Central Park.

Central Park is a unique combination of fields, country lanes, hedgerows… and public sports hubs like Home Park, the Life Centre, golf, bowls, tennis and children’s play areas. It has something for everyone and it’s soon to celebrate its centenary.

A star-studded list of athletes and entertainers have performed in Central Park’s various arenas, including Pele, Gary Sobers, lan Botham, Tom Daley, Rebecca Adlington, Trevor Francis, George Best, Elton John, Rod Stewart and George Michael.

Andrew Young’s recently released book, Plymouth’s Central Park: The Story, is the perfect way to relive it all. So, join us to discover more about the park and Andrew’s book, which is edited and introduced by popular local historian, Chris Robinson, who will be joining Andrew for the talk.

Plymouth’s Central Park: The Story is published by Pen & Ink Publishing.
